As a way of giving back to those communities, Brooke Capital recently launched its Brooke Cares initiative, which encourages volunteerism and community involvement from our employees and agents.

Brooke Cares Activities Net Nearly $2,700 for
Breast Cancer Organizations

 

OVERLAND PARK, Kan., August 7, 2008 -- The Brooke Corporation family of companies recently teamed up to raise nearly $2,700 for the fight against breast cancer with proceeds going to Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the Phillips County, Kan. Relay for Life.  Participating companies were Brooke Corporation, Brooke Capital Corporation, Davidson-Babcock and Aleritas Capital Corporation.  These activities are a part of an ongoing philanthropic endeavor called Brooke Cares.

For a $5 contribution, employees were allowed to wear jeans to work for a day. A raffle for a Dick Vermeil autographed football and helmet was also held, with proceeds going to breast cancer research.  A total of 177 employees contributed and participated in the event.

In addition to Denim Day, Brooke Capital Corporation recently participated in Tough Enough to Wear Pink Night, which was held on July 31, during Kansas’ Biggest Rodeo in Phillipsburg, Kan. For each fan who wore pink to that night’s rodeo performance, the rodeo committee donated $1 to the Phillips County Relay for Life, with Brooke Capital matching the contribution, dollar for dollar. A total of $2,318 was raised, with Brooke contributing $1,159.

In Edinburg we chose Estrella's house, This organization was established in the year 2000, in tribute to Estrella Rojas, a victim of child abuse whose life ended tragically in Edinburg, Texas. Through her guidance and inspiration Estrella's memory is kept alive by helping and treating the children who are victims.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


 

 

Bristol West Insurance Group and Brooke Insurance Agents Join Forces in the Walk to Cure Juvenile Diabetes

 

Sunrise, FL (Grassroots Newswire) - Five Brooke Insurance agents in the Fort Lauderdale area have jumped on board with the Bristol West Marketing Team to support the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Walk to Cure Diabetes. The South Florida Chapter of the foundation is hosting the 5K Walk in Sunrise at the Sawgrass Technology Park on March 8 at 9:30 a.m.

 

Through a combined effort, Brooke Insurance has also donated $2,500 to Bristol West in support of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, (JDRF).

 

The Bristol West Marketing Team has approximately 80 members signed up to participate in this Walk. Brooke Insurance agents participating include; Jaime Mendez with an office in Hollywood, Vladimir Lalbhadoorsingh and Lernard Crockett with offices in Lauderhill, Sally Daley and David Morris with offices in Margate as well as Brooke Area Manger, Alex Frade from Sunrise.

This year, the JDRF will hold 200 Walks involving half a million people nationwide in efforts to make a difference in the lives of people with type 1 diabetes. The disease is most often diagnosed in childhood when it strikes suddenly, lasts a lifetime and carries the threat of deadly complications. JDRF holds the constant mission to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research.
